Faith and Forgiveness

As I sat at work yesterday I was reminiscing of my past, mindful thoughts of those who have hurt me. Hurt me beyond what any individual should experience, people I trusted my life and heart with. I started to get upset and angry at them all over again like I had just ripped off the band-aid. As I thought of the words if I ever had the chance to say to them would be… I became still. Still in the moment where my heart and mind connected and I just took a deep breathe to re-collect. How many of us are holding on to anger and even though we think its a moment done and gone you tend to re-live it? In order to really forgive we need to break thru these walls of self justification, we need to open our hearts. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8) If I am seeking the path of God how do I turn my heart that has anger, bitterness and sadness towards others into “forgiveness”?

I reflected on how many others in my life have ever forgiven & I mean really forgiven me? Because so many people I myself included will say “I forgive you”, but then bring up that mistake over and over again. Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to the unrighteousness & their sins be unlawful deeds I will remember no more.”

This is one of those things that as  we hang onto the bitterness, greed,
anger and the hardest part is reflecting in love. Everyone has made some bad decisions and we do not know what path of regret they are walking after they hurt you. The only one to pass judgement on them is our lord for they will meet the maker one day, its not my job to do so. Think about those who you have a hard time forgiving and somewhere find peace in your heart and in your mind it will make your soul so much happier. (A trait I work on every day)

Turning Your Fear Into Your Fuel

There are 2 feelings that run our world either happiness or fear & fear takes more of what we see today.

What is Fear? True definition of fear is “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.” Fear is an emotion that we all give power too at one moment or another. Fear is something you tell yourself that might happen to you in your present or future and it can be paralyzing at times. I don’t know about you but fear has kept me from a lot things in my life. Am I going to fail, am I not good enough for this position, am I going to get hurt again? We put these thoughts in to our own heads and WE STOP…we never grasp that if we embrace that emotion and remember WHO YOU ARE (every woman is strong) we can defeat & conquer.

This year was the first time in 39 years I grabbed fear and made it “my friend”. I was able to push out the doubt and uncertainty, kept telling myself that if I succeed’ or fail I still tried. I was creating my destiny ahead, it was not making me ANYMORE! I am not saying that fear still doesn’t reside in me because it always will, but I know that if I took 1 step to conquer it, I can take another & another.

Today take one step closer to making fear your friend, I promise you will be a step closer to your destiny.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”

Everyone is looking for something….

We are all seeking happiness but do we really know how to get that? For years I myself thought happiness was in the things I had, I owned, possessed. Don’t get be wrong my friends and family made me happy but did I really appreciate all that I had? I mean if I were happy with all that why was I still craving more?

My mother was that of a wise woman, simple and anyone who knew her saw the love she had for others. She would write poetry as anyone does to express her versions of life, love and happiness. She wrote this poem and I have it posted on my fridge & in passing yesterday I thought it would be perfect to share with you.  A reflection of what we really should be looking for in life……

Looking For Something
Everyone’s seeking the secret of life, how foolish can they be – for what everyone’s searching so hard to find is something everyday we see. But it can only be found in giving, giving of one’s all, in following one’s vocation in the manor of their call. As we see the bird’s up in the sky not wanting to walk but content to fly.                As the flowers that sprout up then fade away happy for the beauty they brought for a day.                                                              Then why as humans can’t we see if we gave our all how happy we would be.          But first we have to learn to love, for that’s the secret of life to love not only when things are right, but through trials & sorrow & strife.  We had the perfect example to follow from one who knew how to love, who gave his life so we could have true happiness up above. So if you’re searching for this priceless secret I hope now you see, that when you love with all your heart HAPPINESS COMES FREE.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies…..

Woman are known to compete with each other than empower one another. We can feed off of one another’s success’ rather than approach with envy.

Take today and empower just one woman you come in contact with & see what your strength can do to her.

Do this and let us know the impact you had on her life and the impact it gave you.

Belief in changing the world big nor small starts with you

One of my favorite quotes by Serena Williams is “The success of every woman should be an inspiration to another. We need to raise each other up, make sure you are very courageous-be strong, extremely kind and above all be humble.”

Start your day with blessings…..

Each day when we wake up we have the opportunity to set the path for the day ahead.

We need to wake up and not dwell on the occurrences of yesterday, someone offended you, the meeting you had didn’t go as planned. Don’t let the negative take up space where the new beginnings and positive thoughts of your NEW day reside. Take inventory of what your giving space to, what is it giving back? Don’t give power to those negative emotions & let it poison your being, your LIFE!

Wake up and be thankful for grace, for mercy, wisdom, love, kindness, peace……SAY THANKS for what is already yours. What you give power to is what will BE! Say the “I AM’s”: I am beautiful, I am funny, I am smart, I am successful….. I AM WHO I SAY I AM.

Be happy in your NOW moments and it will set the path for the day ahead, even when things seem wrong there is always ONE THING TO BE THANKFUL FOR…MAYBE TWO!

Today make an effort to be blessed for not on the breath you get to take but for the moments you can take someone else’s breath away. You can be that blessing for others…..make your day count.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

-Galatians 28:1

Dear God…….

If you had to write God a letter, what would it say, would you have a conversation as you would with a friend or would you restrict yourself? I am learning that communication with God is so important that he is my father and even though some people restrict their emotions, I let it all out. I cry to him, scream at him and sometimes have a great one on one about LIFE! It’s hard to have communication when it’s just one-sided for you never really hear him but he answers in the ways of the world, “your world”.

What would yours say………..

Dear God,

I wake up every day and thank you for all my blessings the day before and for those ahead. I pray for those in need and everyone I love for you to guide & protect them from harm. I often am angry with your decisions for me,  I know I am supposed to let you guide me but at times I think I know more than you & you always prove me wrong. When at glance my life has had so many ups and downs, more downs sometimes I never understand your plan. Am I not seeing the learning lessons you are providing for me?  I know you already wrote my story and I am just living it out but can you edit just a few things? Can you bring back those who have left and maybe if they saw me now things can be different? The heartache and pain is so much I can barely breathe some days. I know that I am supposed to trust you on who you bring into my life and whom you take out but sometimes GOD I WANT THINGS MY WAY!

I know some of the crosses were to make me a strong woman and I think I am on most days. But days when I am unsure can you at least send me a sign you are there, listening, maybe taking notes.

I know you are father and my guider, I must learn to fully trust in your plan. I know I don’t know what you have in store for me but I will always try to make the right decisions and have the strength and courage to live up to the challenges ahead. I just ask Lord  at times of weariness bring me back to faith, love and your home.

Talk to you later Lord!

Love your daughter!
